CLPS Academy: The Driving Force of Talent Training – What you need to know about CLPS (I)
After 15 years of continuous growth, CLPS has morphed into a multinational company status. This was made possible through synergy and cooperation from all its subsidiaries and business departments, locally and internationally. In addition, some institutions under the Company deserve gratitude for working closely and strategically with various business departments to jointly strive for the vigorous development of CLPS.
Let’s take a look on these institutions and see how they provide support for CLPS, starting with the driver for talent development – the CLPS Academy.
Since its founding, CLPS has consistently adhered to the concept of “creating talents”, and primarily set its sights on the training of IT talents. In order to solve the shortage of IT talents in the financial industry, CLPS has carried out a wide range of school-enterprise cooperation talent programs with universities all over China. CLPS also conducted skills training and internship programs for overseas students, and continuously provided on-the-job training for employees to improve their skills and business knowledge.
With its more than a decade of experience in talent training, CLPS formally established CLPS Academy in 2018, integrating courses and faculty of IT skills and business training. The objective is to build a professional, extensive and diversified education platform for all employees and partner universities, in order to cultivate more comprehensive talents in line with the development of the Company.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic this year, CLPS Academy has undergone a change in its training program – shifting from its previous classroom training to online training. Since February 2020, CLPS Academy has launched a series of online training program for colleagues in Shanghai, Dalian and Guangzhou, offering 10 courses covering business English, big data, blockchain, mobile development, artificial intelligence, financial industry knowledge and comprehensive literacy and other fields, with more than 1,500 employees participating.
The epidemic has changed the way of people’s learning. Reading and learning online based on the Internet has gradually become a habit for most people. Jonathan Liu, Dean of CLPS Academy, said, “As a platform with training as its core business, CLPS Academy will also take advantage of this opportunity by transferring more training courses online to provide more options for people to learn and grow.”
Besides, CLPS Academy has set a goal since this year to build an international professional training website, which can provide CLPS personnel a convenient platform for more independent learning and knowledge sharing. The platform can also be used to show to the world CLPS’s achievements in the past decades.
Jonathan added: “Just as open source is the trend of software technologies’ development, and with sharing as its ultimate pursuit, CLPS Academy similarly encourages all CLPS employees to share their skills, not just work-related, but also life skills and all kinds of soft skills, through article, audio, or video. This will enable more people to see, learn, improve and share as well as for more people to continuously get diligent and embrace change, becoming a better person in the process.”
This year, CLPS is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Reviewing the achievements of CLPS in the past 15 years is closely related to the “learning gene” it has borne all these times. It is this form of organizational management that CLPS Academy inherited to solidify this strong learning tradition.
However, for CLPS Academy to achieve its primary goal of building a learning organization that can provide as many learning opportunities and platforms as possible, it is important that everyone adopts the guiding principle of becoming a “perpetual learner”.
“True to its mandate, CLPS Academy will always provide a learning platform for all CLPS personnel, and we are eager for everyone to share what they have seen, learned and thought with others through this platform, so as to make CLPS a haven for learning!”
