Activities of “School of CLPS”: Visiting Enterprises

Junior college students are starting to prepare for graduation, taking their first steps towards a fulfilling career. For students of School of CLPS, this involved stepping through the door of the CLPS offices in Shanghai this March.

Twenty students majoring in Financial IT at Sanda University – School of CLPS came to learn more about prospects in financial technology, what a career in Fintech can bring, and how to prepare themselves, meeting staff from several business lines in CLPS, including technology, project delivery, and earlier graduates of Sanda. As well as technical skills, the importance of soft skills including communication, examples of staying up-to-date with changing technologies and industry applications, and making the most of the transition from university to a working environment were emphasized.

We enjoyed giving the students a chance to get out of their current projects for a day, and also showing them how the projects they’re working on tackle real-world challenges. This is just one in a series of visits where students are encouraged to take inspiration from others’ experiences and to broaden horizons allowing them to make fully-informed career choices, and understand technology from an industry practitioner’s perspective, the key focus of Sanda University – Shool of CLPS.
